I am a system therapist and a neuropsychologist , and I have been working with children, adolescents, young adults, and parents for over 15 years. In addition to my own practice, I am affiliated with Vrijmoet en Maatman and Buutvrij Psychologists, and I am a part-time lecturer at Leiden University (Master\u2019s in Developmental and Educational Psychology).<\/p>

My career in this field started at the Paediatric Neurology outpatient clinic at the Sophia Children\u2019s Hospital in Rotterdam, where my interest in looking beyond the child and their challenges first emerged. What happens at the child level affects the family, and vice versa: if something happens within the family, it impacts the child. From the beginning, I\u2019ve realized that I have a strong affinity for working with adolescents, young adults, and their family systems.<\/p>

After my work at the hospital, I went on to work at various mental health institutions, including GGZ Delfland, where I worked in the outpatient clinic, with the Integrated Ambulatory Team, and with Family Fact, focusing on families with more complex problems. Later, I returned to the medical field at a practice specializing in ADHD.<\/p>

However, my career actually started in the business world after my father passed away when I had just begun my studies. I took over his company, which led me to work in Formula 1 for several years, where my company managed the rights and licenses for races worldwide. It was an exciting and intense experience, but not something I wanted to continue long-term. After selling my company and a brief stint in construction and project management, I decided to follow my true passion: human development and functioning in the broadest sense.<\/p>

This path first led me to brain development and behaviour, and soon to the environments where development takes place: the family and the broader system. I have worked in many different settings, always choosing opportunities that allowed me to continue developing myself, culminating in the launch of my own systemic therapy practice. In my practice, I combine a focus on the individual with an understanding of the broader context and the broader context with regard for the individual. Together, I am eager to explore your story.<\/p>
